Beetlejuice 2: Sequel Coming 35 Years Later

Thirty-five years after the original "Beetlejuice" hit theaters, a sequel is finally in the works. The new film will star Jenna Ortega as Lydia Deetz, the daughter of the original film's protagonists, played by Winona Ryder.

Monica Bellucci will play the role of Lydia's mother, while Michael Keaton will reprise his role as Beetlejuice. The film is scheduled to be released in April 2024.

No details about the plot have been released yet, but it is expected to be a comedy, like the original film.

Beetlejuice was a massive success when it was released in 1988, grossing over $230 million worldwide. The film was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.

Tim Burton, who directed the original film, is not involved in the sequel. The film will be directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, who previously directed the comedy "Game Night."
